Lingonberry nurtures the skin in different ways:
- Protecting. Lingonberry is naturally rich in antioxidants such as flavonoids and vitamins C and E. The biotechnologically manufactured lingonberry stem cell extract LUMENE uses in its products has a high concentration of antioxidants (11 times of that of lingonberries picked from nature). Antioxidants protect skin cells by helping prevent the effects of oxidation and free radicals – the causes of premature aging in skin.
- Helping strengthen skin. Lingonberry seed oil is high in fatty acids, like omega-3
fatty acids, which are essential in helping strengthen and protect the skin. - Hydrating. Vitamin E in lingonberry as well as lingonberry water help skin’s ability to maintain its moisture level. Also the omega-3 fatty acids in lingonberry help prevent dryness of skin and the ability to retain moisture.
- Helping in making skin more firm. Lingonberry helps preserve the firmness of skin. The berry contains potent antioxidant, quercetin, which helps skin maintain its firmness and smooth appearance. The patented lingonberry extract has proven anti-elastase effect.

collected. It contains small amounts of water-soluble ingredients making lingonberry water a component that helps in skin hydration.

Patented lingonberry extract
Our Nordic lingonberry extract is patented due to its effect in plumping the skin. Elastase is an enzyme that breaks down elastin, the elastic fibre, which maintains skin’s elasticity and firmness. This lingonberry extract is rich in quercetin, a polyphenol with an elastase inhibitory activity. It reduces elastase activity even up to 45%. The lingonberry extract is developed using the press residue of berries, which is another side stream product from the food industry.
